My love for vintage inspiration naturally extends from the home to my wardrobe, and Shabby Apple’s new “All That Jazz” collection of dresses with a 1920s and 1930s aura is indeed one of the apples of my eye (no pun intended).   One lucky Poetic Home reader will win the grey “Moon River” dress and inspire nostalgia and romance at holiday parties everywhere this season!

I’m so grateful for the holiday love the Olivetti Valentine has been enjoying!  Janine from UPPERCASE curated a beautiful collection of treasures for Etsy’s Storque inspired by the magazine, and I was deeply honored for her kindest mention of my shop’s Olivetti Valentine (Janine and I originally “met” on Flickr via our shared love for vintage writing machines!).   It also brought a large smile to my face to see the Valentine as one of the picks from Bird and Banner for Design*Sponge’s 2009 bloggers’ wishlist. I’m happy to announce the first Poetic Home giveaway!  With the theme of “vintage sewing delights,” this giveaway includes a medley of vintage sewing accouterments, such as patches, lots of embroidery and lace pieces, antique Indian beaded embellishments, zippers, seam binding, wooden spools, a buttonhole sewing machine attachment set, needlepoint work (the Coronado painting is not included…sorry!), and much more! There’s also a “crazy-daisy winder” which is meant for creating yarn daisies (I think).
