Spring Cleaning on Poetic Home
Poetic Home has needed a spring cleaning for many seasons, and I am very proud to unveil the new look, which I believe is much more symbolic of the Poetic Home aesthetic. The website is not 100% complete just yet, as we have a few bugs to work out, but I’d love to hear your feedback!
With all of the spring cleaning, I’m also hoping to get your input about what type of content and regular features you’d like to see.
Would you like more repurposing goodness, vintage interior design posts, and peeks into chic vintage-inspired homes? I’m also thinking of introducing new regular posts, such as a weekly round-up of library card catalogs for sale, as well as guests who share photos and stories of typewriters in their lives. What do you think?

hi! i recently bought an old house in buffalo, new york and i stumbled upon your blog somehow. i am really interested in your repurposing/reusing ideas. as far as chic-inspired houses, i feel like there are so many out there–i’m looking for pratical ideas, cheap ideas, useful ideas….that’s my 2 cents. i really like your blog and the new look is really great!
I come to your blog because of what you share, so in the end, whatever you do with the scenery will be fine with me as you have a great blog!
That said, I so loved your old banner and brown colors. This new blog (while I like the typewriter key as buttons) lacks the uniqueness of your old site which when I stumbled upon it the first time, I got it – I understood your vision.
So maybe think about that as you clean up and change things around, how do the colors/styles of blog represent what you are trying to share.
Anyway, love your blog! Good luck with the remodel. They can be fun! (And a little frustrating–I hope you have more fun than frustration- I recently remodeled my blog and almost lost my mind.)

I am new and still learning about design and fall more and more in love with vintage everyday. I love you vintage DIY stuff! I would love some tutorials, maybe video tutorials on how to know if something is truly vintage.

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
