Let There Be Vintage Light

As my belly grows bigger, it seems as though the progress on my DIY projects grow slower.  I promise I have new projects and inspiration to share with you very soon, especially as the “nesting” stage starts :)   In the interim, for this week, I’d like to share a glimpse into vintage desk lamps and lights that have meandered through my home.  Why do today’s desk lamps fall so short in their aesthetic appeal and functionality?

oh you have no idea how lusty i am right now! i’m sitting at my newly set up desk pining away for one of these! i do have a lovely little vintage number on my desktop, but the light it sheds is so small as to barely be noticeable. i think i need one of these long-necked fellows! hope you are well! xo.

I love these! I have one very similar to the third one, and I adore it. It’s a very old lab lamp!

i love these lamps! i have one that i ‘borrowed’ from my father-in-law that you will love. it’s small and kind of like the top one, but the lamp part folds down onto the base and makes a NIGHT LIGHT! i will photograph it soon for you. enjoy your weekend!

    hi grace!
I recently sold one just like your ‘mr. gooseneck’. I had painted it a matte black and it looked sharp.

I love these retro lights with their huge personality factor. I keep collecting them and listing them in my shop. they’re very popular. I guess you’re right, there is something lacking in our current version of the desk light…

    hope you are feeling great!

Oh, as usual, dear…that would be perfect for either my home office or as my bedside lamp.

    Gorgeous.

@Markus I get your drift on where you were going there. I often think of my past and use it as a means to analyze where I am and where I want to get to. Where I struggel is balancing it all out. How do you guys balance things out?

Losing a pet is truly losing a member of the family and the void of their unconditional love is so difficult to bear. My thoughts are with you and your family.
