Do you sometimes feel that in your past life (if you have one), you may have been a gypsy? I find myself constantly lured by the western winds that taunt me to experience a new place (which is perhaps why I have lived in six different cities and states since graduating from college…or on a less romantic note, perhaps it is simply my quarter-life crisis speaking). If more gypsy caravans were on this side of the Atlantic, I could imagine adopting the lifestyle instantly. Alas, if only RVs were a wee bit more romantically and nostalgically appealing.
For all of us, however, we can still live the dream — for about 70 pounds a night via gypsy caravans for rent! France is home to the first caravan, while West Wales is the charming location of a historical gypsy caravan that maintains its yesteryear charm. Aren’t these fantastic alternatives to hotels?
What are your plans for the weekend?
Perhaps a pinch of gypsy freedom is in order for all of us!

these look wonderful! i’d love to stay in one vs. a hotel. this weekend, we’re going to see my brother who lives a bit like a gypsy. he never puts the heat on so his home often feels pretty much like a caravan, although it’s not nearly as charming
. have a nice weekend!

I wish I were heading out to take a vacation in one of these! I’ll just be at home, trying to get things done.

That is AWESOME! I would love a vacation in one of those. My husband would love to live in one full time. He’s always trying to talk me into giving away everything and moving into a shed. Yup. A shed. Sigh…

These are so COOL!! I’ve had a dream for as long as I can remember to own a house with a yard large enough to get a vintage Airstream trailer and convert it into a guest house… I envision little daisies planted out front with a pebble walkway leading to my house and a vintage table for two with fresh cut flowers sitting out front… one day. Apparently, there are a lot of people who rent out their airstreams for vaca’s – here’s one example: http://www.sbsilversafari.com/about.html

Love this. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of living in a caravan or train car. Harold & Maude, perhaps? Love the beautiful use and design of small spaces…
