Out of This World! Upcycling Ideas for Vintage Globes

Globes have been making appearances in decor magazines everywhere, but with these upcycled ideas, your vintage globes will enjoy fame around the world.

Left: The Idea Globe™, invented by NineInchNachosII, takes an ordinary globe and turns it into the perfect world for all your ideas and drawings.  Right: A vintage globe repurposed by slone2601 sheds perfect light on cosmopolitan workspaces.

Left: Serve up jet-setting snacks via Etsy seller’s streetwolf repurposed globe creation; the best part is that the entire bowl is made of repurposed materials, including vintage maps and an old cake stand.  Right: The South Pole is always on time with this fantastic repurposed vintage globe clock by Etsy seller IMOTIME.

What fabulous globe creations! So many people I know are into globes and maps, and with the holidays coming up these would make terrific gifts. Great finds as always, Grace!

Oh and thanks so much for your great response to my email about those chairs. I can’t wait to spend some time this weekend giving them a little love (after checking to make sure they’re not a hot item on eBay, of course :)

You can’t beat those globe pendant lights. Every time I read a post I want something. This is becoming an addiction.

If you can only get your hand on one globe, but you want to try the idea globe and one of the other ideas, you could make a paper mache mould of the globe and paint that with the chalkboard paint, then use the actual mappy globe pieces for another project.
