Stunning re-purposed vintage industrial eye candy!

I have such a soft spot for re-purposing old items and giving them new life. Not only does it help keep excess out of our landfills, but they offer such great creative surprises to the eye. Piet Hein Eek, an incredible Dutch designer with a green passion, has such a great eye for using old things in new ways. At the moment, although he has showcased at MOMA, none of his work is available in the US yet…until Parisian design shop L’Eclaireur opens up shop in New York soon! Until his lovely treasure are available in the US, it gives great new light for all those elements we see at the architectural salvage lots. He’s known for the quintessential modern bed built from recycled used wood (with the “matching” cabinet shown below), but there are other treasures in his gorgeous gallery. Enjoy and thanks to Remedios!

This site is intriguing! There is so much to see and think about and I get so many great ideas for designing my own space. My space has “NO” focal point to draw the observer to, however, at Poetic Home I have found that you can create interest with unique pieces from any era to create an inviting environment.

These are so lovely! I really like the one with what look like drawers in what i’d call ‘seasidey colours’. Lovely.

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
